Hand-Sewn Wilton Rug Fabrication

Prism Handcrafted Rugs specializes in high-end woven rug fabrication. Our craftsmen are well versed in different sewing techniques, ensuring the highest-quality seams possible. Our steps include:
  • All seams are sealed and hand-sewn
  • Corners are mitered
  • Edges are hand-bound with a heavy cotton binding
  • The last step is to block the finished rug to ensure that it lays flat
  • Provide a Durahold pad cut to fit and then deliver and spread the rug

Fabric Bordered Area Rugs

Our professionals will hand-bind your rug edges with leather, suede, cotton, linen, and chenille. We will also strip your own 54-wide fabric and use it to bind the edges of the rugs.

We will then attach decorative furniture tacks around the perimeter of any rug. Decorative tacks can also be used on stairways as seen in our gallery.

Hand-Serged Edges

We hand-serge any carpet with cotton serging tape. We hand-serge hand-knotted and hand-tufted rugs. 

Measuring and Material Layouts

Prism Handcrafted Rugs will measure and provide the materials required to complete your project. We provide scaled floor plans and seaming diagrams.

For large-shaped, handmade rugs, leave it to us to make a perfect template, ship it to the mill, receive it and professionally spread it over a Durahold pad cut to fit. We have handled and spread rugs as large as 40'x75'.
